MEATBALL SUB BUBBLE-UP BAKE

Ingredients

1 can (16.3 oz) of Pillsbury ™ Grands! ™ Southern Homestyle chilled Original cookies (8 biscuits)
1 packet (16 ounces) of frozen Italian meatballs
1 green bell pepper, diced, braised
3 cups marinara sauce
2 cup Italian Cheese Mix (8 oz)
Grated Parmesan cheese and chopped fresh basil, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 ° F.
  2. Divide the dough into 8 biscuits. Cut each cookie into 6 pieces; place in a large bowl. Add meatballs, fried bell pepper and marinara sauce; stir until well coated.
  3. Pour into a non-oiled 13x9 inch glass baking dish. Sprinkle the Italian cheese mixture evenly on top.
  4. Bake for 35 minutes or until slices of biscuit swell and the cheese melts and becomes golden brown.
  5. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and, if necessary, chopped fresh basil before serving.

Expert Advice

  • Save the leftovers for a good lunch the next day.
  • Add mushrooms instead of (or in addition to) sweet pepper for a little twist.
